Soon after it became evident the Covid-19 pandemic would change the very fabric of how we meet, socialize, congregate, play and learn, Backs in Action decided to offer resources to our patients. community members and others, as a way of keeping us connected. We wanted to ensure that even though we weren’t able to physically meet at the start of the pandemic, we could still stay connected. As the severity of the pandemic became apparent, we decided that webinars could become important resources for all of us to weather the storm and act as reminders that we shouldn’t forego our health.

The year 2020 has been one of change, anxiety and inconsistency for many. The way we live, we play and we work has been drastically impacted. How, and who we socialize with, has been changed for the foreseeable future. All of this has the potential to bring about anxiety, impact the way we feel and to alter the ways we think about what the future will hold. In September, many parents and caregivers across Vancouver had the difficult decision to make as to whether to send their children back to school, how to balance their children’s social and educational needs with their own needs, whether working-at-home, returning to work in the office or looking for work.

In this free webinar series, Veera Grewal, a Registered Clinical Counsellor with Backs in Action, speaks about how to manage your mental health during the time of Covid-19, how to develop exercises and strategies to best cope with the difficult decisions we have to make, the stresses and anxieties and how to find the best solutions for each of us. The webinar series is targeted to families, parents and caregivers, as kids transition back to school, in helping to understand, manage and make sense of what we are feeling and facing. Although, everyone will find value in the tips and tricks provided here.

Earlier in 2020, Backs in Action launched a new four-part webinar series to help those trying to stay healthy and pain-free while at home. The webinar series was hosted by Backs in Action Chiropractor, Dr Ryan Takagi. with each lasting 15-20 minutes.

Topics include:

Part 1: Introduction to Telehealth and the Webinar Series

Part 2: Fundamental Movement Skills at Home

Part 3: Structuring Movement in Your Day

Part 4: Lifestyle Factors related to Aging and Longevity
