Common workplace injuries we see
People come to us after injuries at work such as:
- Back and neck strains
- Shoulder, elbow, hip and wrist strains, including carpal tunnel and other nerve-related symptoms
- Knee and ankle sprains, and leg strains
- Overuse and repetitive strain injuries, including tendonitis and bursitis
- Injuries from lifting, falls, slips or knocks, including bruising
- Recovery after a workplace injury that limits your usual duties
Your chiropractor assesses your injury and explains whether chiropractic care is suitable. If we feel physiotherapy or acupuncture could better help you, we will recommend it, and those services are also covered by WorkSafeBC on an accepted claim. Another healthcare provider may be recommended if needed. If your injury is a concussion or a vestibular (balance or dizziness) injury, that specialized care is provided by our physiotherapy team. Learn more on our WorkSafeBC physiotherapy page.
How it works for a WorkSafeBC injury
1. Book an assessment
Book online or call us, and tell us you are booking for a work injury. If your injury happened within the past 60 days, we can start with an initial assessment even while your claim is pending.
2. Have your claim number ready
Treatment after the assessment needs a claim accepted by WorkSafeBC. Bring your claim number. If you are unsure of your claim status, call us and we will help you check.
3. Recover with a plan
Your chiropractor builds a plan around your injury and your job, and reviews your progress as you go. Our goal is to make you feel better faster.
On an accepted claim, WorkSafeBC covers up to 11 chiropractic sessions within 8 weeks for a musculoskeletal injury, when the first visit is within 60 days of the injury. If it has been longer, WorkSafeBC approval is needed first. Your claim owner at WorkSafeBC decides what is covered.

How many sessions does WSBC cover?
On an accepted claim, WorkSafeBC covers up to 11 chiropractic sessions within 8 weeks for a musculoskeletal injury, when your first visit is within 60 days of the injury. What happens at my first chiropractic appointment?
Your chiropractor asks about your injury, your job and your goals, then assesses your movement. They explain their findings and discuss a plan for your recovery with you before treatment begins.
Can I have chiropractic care alongside other treatment?
If you are already receiving physiotherapy, acupuncture or other care for the same injury, tell us when you book so we can confirm what your claim covers.
