World Partnership Walk: Healthier Moms Means Healthier Children

World Partnership Walk:

Healthier Moms Means

Healthier Children

Impact of AKDN Projects:

Between 1990 and 2010 the number of children dying before the age of 5 was cut in half and maternal mortality dropped by 50%. However many women and children still do not have access to the information and care they need to be healthy. This is where we need your help! Health is a key factor in breaking the cycle of poverty. Healthy moms can raise healthy children, who in turn grow up to contribute to and lead their communities. Youtube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2TsT0tEPcg

The Government of Canada recently signed a $100 million partnership with the Aga Khan Development Network to tackle health challenges and improve the quality of life of people in Asia and Africa. The Government will contribute $75 million and the remaining $25 million will come from Canadians participating in the World Partnership Walk (WPW) and other World Partnership events (ie: golf tournament) put on by the Aga Khan Foundation Canada (AKFC).
