Causes of Plantar Fasciitis?
- Overpronation: Feet roll inward when walking
- Tight Calf Muscles
- Tight Achilles Tendons: Ligaments/Tendons that attach to the back of the heel become taut/tight
Symptoms of Plantar Fasciitis?
- Heel pain: “Burning Sensation” with the first few steps of getting out of bed
- Heel pain when standing for long periods of time
- Pain when walking up stairs or standing on your toes
- Pain when stretching the fascia/calf muscles: Pulling on the “saran wrap”
Treatment for Plantar Fasciitis?
o Reduces stress on plantar fascia and supports the arch of your foot
o Stretches the foot’s plantar fascia releasing tension
- Roll a tennis ball or a frozen water bottle back and forth under your foot
